Get Involved

There are several ways to support the program, and they do not all require a big time commitment.

Join

Membership is open to every parent, guardian, teacher, and staff member connected to the Bellevue Mandarin Dual Language program. You do not need to volunteer to be a member, and joining is the single easiest way to support the program. Membership dues Type Cost Notes Family $25 Covers two family members Individual or staff $15 One member Join on Givebacks Why membership matters Dues fund classroom support, student programs, and community events. Membership numbers also determine our standing within the Washington State PTA, which affects our voice in advocacy at the district and state level.

Donate

Donations fund the programs, materials, and events that the school district budget does not cover. Every dollar stays with the Bellevue Mandarin Dual Language program. Donate on Givebacks Tax deductibility The BMDL PTSA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our EIN is 46-3151727. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Volunteer

Every program and event we run is staffed by parent volunteers. There is a role for almost any amount of time you can give. Ways to help Event support — a single shift at one event, no ongoing commitment Program support — helping a program lead through a season Committee or board service — an ongoing role with a defined term Open board positions Several director positions are currently unfilled. These are real opportunities to shape what the PTSA does, and most come with an outgoing volunteer willing to help you get started.

Advocacy

PTSA advocacy work happens at the district and state level, largely through the Washington State PTA and the Bellevue PTSA Council.

Training

The Washington State PTA provides required and optional training for PTSA officers.
